I tried to think of a clever title for this site. I really did. But nothing on my list of ideas felt right, so I named it after myself.

I’m Maggie. I follow Christ; I’m a wife to Leo; I’m a mom of two toddlers. We live in Alabama and love our people here. I like sitting alone in coffee shops, serving my family, connecting with people, making friends laugh, keeping plants, fishing, learning, writing.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve written. There are storage bins of journals describing grade-school happenings and life’s deep growing pains. Because writing helps me process life.

God is transforming my mind to be a place of Truth rather than a place that drags me to the dark and leaves me there. He does this through means like His Word. His Word is a lamp to my feet (Psalm 119:105), so understanding comes when I pause to hover that lamp over the path of my life. To look at what’s going on in the light of what’s true.

I feel inclined to share with you what I find.

Besides this, at the base level you and I actually have similar experiences. Things we wish we knew as teenagers and what we’re glad we didn’t. The abrupt end when we graduate, move, or lose someone. The nerves before important conversations. Pretending we know how to be adults. Living out of the laundry basket. A new friend. Raising children while we’re still growing up. Finding another gray hair.

I enjoy finding the words for our common human experiences.

Maybe we grew up together then apart. Maybe we were friends for one of life’s seasons. Maybe we’re friends right now or we’ve never met. Whoever you are, you’re invited. I hope to treat you like a good friend here–where we’ll ask questions, tell stories, and talk about life. Thanks for being here.

The first story will be out this Thursday, December 12th.
